About the Airport
Oakland County International Airport (OCIA), located in Waterford, Michigan is the County's aviation gateway to the world and is the premiere corporate and general aviation airport serving Oakland County, Metro Detroit, and Southeast Michigan. The airport offers paved runways and taxiways, effective lighting and taxiway identification, and excellent approaches to its 6520 foot instrument runway. A Federal Aviation Administration-staffed control tower provides complete air traffic control services including Tower Advisory Radar. The airport is open 24 hours a day.
Charter and contract passenger, as well as air freight operations are among the services available from businesses on, or adjacent to, the field. New and used aircraft sales, aircraft rental, and flight training schools offer resources for current and future pilots in Oakland County. Six facilities provide full Fixed Based Operator (FBO) services, including fueling, aircraft charter, and catering, as well as avionics, airframe and powerplant repairs.
